Gabriel Pablo Axarlian is an economist whose academic work sits at the intersection of markets, technological change and the media industries.

He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with fields of interest in Media Economics and Applied Microeconomics.

His path to economics began with the study of film at the University of Southern California. That combination of economic analysis and an understanding of media ultimately became the foundation of his research into consumer behavior, technological change and entertainment markets.

Gabriel taught economics at California State University, Northridge for five academic years following earlier teaching experience at UC Santa Cruz.

His approach emphasizes clarity, organization and the connection between economic theory and the decisions people and businesses make in the real world.

His teaching experience spans introductory, intermediate and upper-division economics, including courses for economics and business students.
